The boat should be what you like an can afford. Even top brand boats have issues just look at the Contender Warranty threads.

I have a 2016 180 Viper and have been very pleased overall. No major issues and the small ones have all been taken care of by Sea Fox, though not at lightning speed for sure. For a small boat, mine handles the bay extremely well and the wide beam from the Carolina flare produces a really nice fishing platform.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who can tell you of any substantive differences in the way the boats are manufactured. The differences are typically minor details.
