As the new year begins, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sheriff Kevin McMahill has stated that reducing traffic deaths will be one of his top three priorities, citing roadway fatalities as one of the most pressing challenges facing the department. Despite reported reductions in several crime categories, including homicide, McMahill said traffic-related deaths remain unacceptably high in the Metro jurisdiction. “I’m tired of people dying in our community,” McMahill said.
