The Longsheng Rice Terraces, also called the Longji Rice Terraces, are located in Longsheng County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in south China. The terraced fields are built along the slope winding from the riverside all the way up to the mountain top. A coiling terrace line that starts from the mountain foot up to the mountain top divides the mountain into snail-like layers. Longsheng locals have meticulously transformed flatlands into rice terraces despite the formidable challenges presented by the mountains. The terraces cover an area of over 666 hectares with an inclination range of 26 to 50 degrees.
