In 1983, a horrific accident occurred on the Byford Dolphin oil rig. Four divers ‘were in a pressurized chamber when a clamp was opened too early. The pressure dropped from 9 atmospheres to 1 atmosphere in a fraction of a second. The air didn't just rush out; it exploded. One diver, Truls Hellevik, was standing near the slightly open door.
