Leave a tiny border (about 1/16th of an inch) of the netting around the edge of the embroidery so the motif doesn't unravel. 2) Position & Pin. Keep your pins strictly within the seam allowances or use extra-fine silk pins. Better yet, thread baste the motifs into place. Basting gives you the most control and prevents the lace from shifting
