The BBC has officially apologised to a gay radio presenter who was sacked from his job at BBC Radio Cornwall following homophobic abuse. Jack Murley alleged that colleagues called him names like “fairy boy” and that a manager asked him to sound “less gay” on air. An internal investigation by the BBC found that it failed to act in response to the homophobic abuse. In a letter, the BBC's chief operating officer across Nations Jason Horton formally apologised to Murley on behalf of the organisation
